THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PROGRESS

REAL PEOPLE.
THEIR KIND
OF STRONG.

More confidence. A little headspace. A reason to keep showing up.

Four different starting points. Here’s what training with Andy means to the people doing the work.

AN HOUR.
ALL HERS.

A full workday. Two children. Plenty of people to think about. Training gives Ebony time to focus on herself.

When she spoke with us, Ebony was balancing a busy leadership role and family life with her love of track cycling. She wanted to build strength and speed, but also wanted guidance she could trust.

I don’t have to think about what I need to do when I step into that gym. It’s all done for me.

Ebony Wilson · Interview excerpt, lightly edited for clarity

Andy built her sessions around her goals. She could arrive, put her energy into the work and leave the planning to him. Just as valuable was the encouragement: someone helping her rebuild her confidence and enjoy being on the bike again.

WHAT MATTERS TO EBONY

Expert guidance. Space to switch off. Confidence to keep going.

A FRESH
STARTING POINT.

Ken felt he had reached a plateau. Giving strength training a proper go opened up a new way forward.

He had known Andy for years through spin classes and cycling. Gym-based strength and stability work was less familiar territory. After trying a little on his own, he wanted a clearer plan.

Maybe I need a little bit more structure.

Ken Uprichard · From his interview

Andy brought that structure, alongside cycling drills and one-to-one encouragement. For Ken, the relationship mattered: being able to speak openly, ask questions and hear honest feedback from someone who understood his sport.

The sessions also challenged him to try work he would not have tackled on his own. And the thing he would miss most? The banter.

WHAT MATTERS TO KEN

A clear plan. Honest feedback. Giving something different a go.

GOOD TRAINING.
BETTER COMPANY.

Glenn wanted to feel stronger on the bike and in life. A familiar face made coming back to the gym feel natural.

He and Andy already shared long weekend rides, a similar work ethic and plenty of laughs. After time away from the gym, Glenn wanted to bring more balance to his fitness and build strength for the years ahead.

It’s more like training with a mate than training with a personal trainer.

Glenn Rewi · From his interview

Working with Andy gave him fresh programmes and a reason to do more than repeat the same familiar exercises. The friendship made the effort enjoyable: get in, do the work and have a laugh along the way.

WHAT MATTERS TO GLENN

Variety. Strength for everyday life. Someone he enjoys training with.

FINDING
HIS BALANCE.

Chris knew his way around a gym. What he wanted was a fresh approach that made sense for his cycling.

His earlier training had focused on strength and rugby. Working with Andy introduced different challenges: functional movements, single-leg work and exercises chosen with the bike in mind.

It’s helped my balance.

Chris Towart · From his interview

He noticed a difference in his balance and found himself thinking more carefully about what he was doing in the gym. The variety kept sessions interesting. Andy’s honesty helped build trust.

And Chris’s must-have in a coach was wonderfully straightforward: a sense of humour.

WHAT MATTERS TO CHRIS

Purposeful variety. Better balance. Honesty with a bit of humour.
